- I believe that teaching is a process of learning from students, colleagues and parents
- I believe that the most significant learning occurs in situations that are both meaningful and realistic - I believe that students should be assessed on their strengths not their weaknesses - I believe that all children should feel accepted and loved for who they are - I believe students should be encouraged to question everything, and continue to ask questions - I believe the classroom should be a safe space for everyone - I believe everyone has something to offer - I believe I am a learner, and will continue to be a learner. Therefore I will be open to learning new things from my students - I believe in a student-first approach to teaching - I believe in hands on learning - I believe in adapting to the students way of learning - I believe in embracing personal growth |
- In my classroom, I will encourage students to use their error as opportunities to learn and grow from it
- In my classroom, I will teach students about issues within out community, discuss ways we can get involved and encourage students to take positive actions - In my classroom, I will encourage kindness, understanding and compassion towards others - In my classroom, I will create opportunities for students to have a say in how they are assessed and make sure they are assessed in ways that benefit them - In my classroom, I will promote a student-first approach to teaching. This means I will base my pedagogy on the principle that every student wants to achieve and that I want every student to achieve. My role is to support their learning the best I can. |
